Chaperone Study of AT2220 Back to Phase 1

In a press release, Amicus Therapeutics announce that another study of AT2220 for Pompe disease is planned to be initiated at phase 1 to evaluate the pharmacokinetics of AT2220 in healthy adult subjects. A previous phase 2 study was suspended earlier this year after occurrence of serious adverse events. Next steps in the development program are expected in 2010 when data from the phase 1 study will be available.

Chaperones are candidates for the oral therapy of Pompe disease.
